OBJECTIVES

OBJECTIVES

GENERAL OBJECTIVE

To serve as a centre for the exchange of knowledge among researchers interested in this subject, and as a place of reference for young researchers who want to orient their academic careers to the field of communication and vulnerable social groups.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

1) Design a strategy to protect family cohesion with regard to the access of minors to social networks, identifying the constraints that make mediation difficult within the family, especially regarding their access to Internet through social networks.

2) Cooperate with the goals of the European Digital Agenda, specifically promoting the digital inclusion of the elderly in collaboration with companies and institutions that specialize in training in new technologies, as well as companies specializing in digital publishing and content creation.

3) Collaborate with EU recommendations on the protection of cohesion and reinforcement of family and school-based authority in relation to the access of minors to social networks and content transmitted through multiple digital screens.

4) Detect the factors that make family mediation difficult and diagnose access to content of a pernicious nature. Encourage the interest of parents and guardians on the subject, alerting them to the risks of internet and the importance of digital training for the purpose of enabling them to confront these issues. Involve partner companies in adopting measures and protocols for assistance and protection.

5) Act on anomic patterns of behaviour to which minors and young people are exposed, and the interference that occurs with our own societal models based on democratic values of impartiality, freedom and equality, without discrimination based on gender, cultural environment or race.

6) Develop and strengthen the network of researchers established around the International Association for Research on Children, Youth and Communication (Kids&Com), as a vehicle for scientific exchange and channelling of proposals toward the general society.
